Arduino Project #9:
This project is a development of the WS2812B RGB LED effect animation project which was completed some time ago. The next project is to control the RGB LED WS2812B using an Android cellphone or iPhone via a bluetooth connection. Software / applications needed to control the LED flame can be developed by MIT App Inventor online and for free. The following is a video documentation of the making of the WS2812B RGB LED Control project with Android.
Materials needed:
Arduino Uno
Bluetooth Module HC-05
WS2812B RGB LED
Android phone
The PC has the Arduino IDE installed
Android app & sketch Arduino (download here DOWNLOAD)
Resistors 5k ohms & 10k ohms
Sufficient cable
Manufacturing steps:
Arrange the circuit according to the scheme
Circuit Schematic
Open the downloaded Arduino Sketch file
Arduino Sketch interface
Connect the Arduino to the PC / laptop then upload the sketch (note: before uploading the TX and RX cables need to be removed so there is no error)
Install the Android App that has been downloaded to Android (note: only tested for Android, while the iPhone has not been tested whether it can or not)
Android Installed Applications
Turn on Bluetooth on Android, then press the Bluetooth button in the App, and select the connection to the HC-05 (note: when prompted for a password enter 1234)
A successful connection is indicated by the onset of the HC-05 Bluetooth module blinking within 2 seconds
Then you can try pressing the color button on the Android App. The LED will change according to the color button press on the Android App.
